Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
Marketel ("we", "us", "our") operates the bookmarketel.com website, the Marketel Front Desk mobile app, and related booking services. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to property owners and guests.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly:
- Email address and account credentials
- Phone number, if you choose to provide one for support or assistant features
- Property name, address, descriptions, photos, rates, availability, and room or unit details
- Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store card numbers)
We also collect information from your guests when they book through your engine:
- Guest name, email, phone number
- Booking dates and room preferences
- Payment card authorization (processed by Stripe)
When you use Marketel Front Desk, we may also collect:
- An Apple Push Notification service device token, notification preferences, and the property connected to that device
- Basic service activity, diagnostics, and security information such as login attempts, feature interactions, device or browser type, and IP-derived network information
- First-party funnel analytics such as an anonymous visitor and session identifier, referral, campaign, and advertising click identifiers, pages and setup stages viewed, controls used, whether a field was completed, time spent, scroll depth, connection and page-performance measurements, and browser errors. These analytics do not record passwords, PINs, payment-card data, message contents, uploaded image contents, or the text entered into setup fields.
- Messages and support requests you choose to send us
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain your booking engine and front desk software
- To send booking confirmations to your guests
- To send you notifications about new bookings
- To communicate with you about your account (welcome emails, PIN resets, support)
- To process payments via Stripe
- To secure accounts, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve the Service
- To understand where owners succeed or leave during setup, measure advertising outcomes, and improve onboarding and activation
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Stripe — for payment processing
- Brevo — for transactional emails (booking confirmations, welcome emails)
- Vercel/Render — for hosting infrastructure
- Cloudflare — for image and file storage where enabled
- Cloudinary — to deliver help images and videos
- goQR/QR Server — to render QR codes containing your public booking link
- Apple — to deliver notifications to the Marketel Front Desk iOS app
- Meta — for advertising measurement and campaign optimization
- Microsoft Clarity — for website usage analytics and session diagnostics on our web experience; Clarity is disabled inside the authenticated iOS app
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the Service, or as part of a business transfer. Service providers may use information only to perform services for us.
Data Security
We use safeguards including HTTPS encryption, keyed one-way hashing for Front Desk PINs, signed time-limited links and booking actions, access controls, rate limits, and secure database connections. Payment card data is handled by Stripe and is not stored on our servers. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain account and reservation data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. A property owner can request deletion from Marketel Front Desk settings. The request has a 7-day grace period during which it can be canceled; after that, the property account and operational booking data are scheduled for deletion and the subscription is canceled. You may also contact support for help.
We may retain limited records when required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legal obligations. Information retained for those purposes is not used to keep operating a deleted booking engine.
Your Rights
You can:
- Access your data through your front desk dashboard
- Update your information at any time
- Request account deletion in the iOS app or by contacting support
- Cancel a pending deletion request during the 7-day grace period
- Export your booking data by contacting support
- Disable notifications in iOS Settings and ask us to deactivate the associated device token
Cookies
Our websites use essential browser storage for authentication and service operation. We also use first-party browser storage to assign anonymous visitor and per-tab session identifiers so events from landing, setup, and activation can be understood as one journey. Public marketing and web funnel pages may also use Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity technologies for advertising measurement, usage analytics, and troubleshooting. Those advertising and session-replay tools are not loaded inside the authenticated iOS app. You can limit these technologies through your browser and device settings.
Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect account information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights.
